Tacos...

So I've been told fairly recently that Taco Bell tacos suck. I like them. I don't think they are that bad at all. This same person also said the best tacos are Taco John's tacos. I just stopped at a Taco John's in Kansas and I'm gonna try. I'll let you guys know.

Note: I MIGHT HAVE HAD THE BEST TACOS EVER LAST NIGHT AT TAMMIE'S HOUSE. Sorry for the caps. She cooked the best I've ever tasted.

On the road again....

Well after a most enjoyable stay in Denver thanks to my friend from my elementary school days, Tammie and her husband Cody, I am back on the road. I am headed back to Atlanta. I think I have my $@&! together now, hopefully.

So I missed it...

So on the morning of the 4th day of the DNC where Obama was to deliver his my childhoodacceptance speech, I decided on a whim that I would attend since they opened it up to the public @ Invesco field (Denver Broncos home field). The problem with that was that I was in Texas, in Lewisville, just northwest of Dallas, plus I still wanted to stop in Lawton, OK (my childhood town). Well to make a long story short. I missed it. I arrived at the stadium as the fireworks were going off when Obama finished his speech.

Below are some photos. I thought I was being a newspaper photographer...lol, not my forte. Tell me what you think. Oh yeah and as soon I figure out how to upload video, I'll show you my trip in small clips.

I lost $20 in 4 minutes

This morning I woke up with a headache, which suck since I'll be driving all day.

As soon as I got on the highway this morning, I see this hitchhicker. I never stop for hitchickers....to dangerous, got to get to work or home, just don't feel like it. Today, I had none of these reasons not to pick her up, so I stopped. I get out to great this woman and she says she is going to Arizona. Mind you I'm in Mobile, AL at this point. She has a long trip in front of her. I told her that I could take her as far as Austin, TX, but she said no. She wanted to get to Arizona non-stop apparently. As I was pulling up, she was waving off a trucker. I'm thinking "beggers can't be choosers"....You know. SInce moving on I have seen 2 other hitchikers, but I didn't stop. Both were men, they might could have tried to kill me. Not that this woman couldn't have done the same had I picked her up, but I did feel as if I could handle her if she became violent.

I stopped in Biloxi, MS to see the Gulf of Mexico. I saw it, photographed it.....Nice!
Oh before I forget. What is Whattaburger? I don't beleive I have heard of or seen that one before. There does seem to be alot of Sonics down here though. Irish and I are always commenting that there isn't Sonic around when you need one.
Ok, back to Biloxi....I also stopped by a casino....lol I told myself I was only going to spend $20, but after loosing it in 4 minutes on the slot machines, I thought differently. I pulled out one more $20, but this time I went to expore the casino. I found Roulette, Craps, & Blackjack. I spent $10 on BlackJack and $10 on Roulette. I was done in 6 minutes...lol Gambling is not for me! It is fun though.
So I am gonna try to listen to all the songs in my iPod in order....well not in straight order, but random or with no repeats...same principle. We'll see how far I get. I noticed that I was doing this after 42 songs. I am currently on 173, not bad I guess. I do have 7816 songs though, it may take longer than this trip.

I drove 565.3 miles on one tank today. That is a new personal best record for me. That is far! That's an average of 34.3 MPG. That's actually what they put on the sticker when you buy the cars, but who actually gets those mileages.....me today...lol

Check out these photos for today.....

Day 1

You've got to be kidding me. I had an entire page of blogging and it somehow disappeared. What is the point of "autosave" anyways!! I just added these photos as a consulation.

I FoUnD iT... I foUnD It!!!

The infamous lost 1st blog.....

I ALMOST RAN OUT OF GAS! Well for those of you who don't know, I have to use BP/Amoco Gas. I only use their gas in my car and only get Silver (mid-grade) too. I have also been trying to employ some "hyper-miling" practices as well. I shift into Neutral to coast down declines/down hills. It really works, but you have to work at it. This past gas tank lasted from Aug. 15 - today (Aug. 26), driving in Atlanta around my area (Dunwoody), driving downtown about 3 or 4 times, and driving almost all the way to Montgomery, AL. Yeah I had to stop somewhere between Auburn and Montgomery. 520.3 miles total, one tank. I Am The Man...lol

I had lunch with Alicia today. Thanks again Alicia! From what I gathered, she has he stresses, but is doing well. I wish I was working in my filed the way she is working in hers. She gave me a tour of the the NBC affliliate station she works in. VEry cool place.

After leaving Alicia,I find myself just driving south on I-65 toward Mobile, AL. I wanted to make it to the beach before it got dark, but because of a stop I made in Fort Deposit, I missed the sunset and the photo-op. I will catch it in the morning or see a better one when I get to Cali.

I'm going to attempt to sleep in my car in a hotel (Days Inn) parking lot. Hopefully that works out.

Until next time.........
