2008 MTV VMA's

Below are comments I posted on Rolling Stone's VMA blog..... I stared off by responding to someones else

"oy... 9/7/2008, 10:29 pm EST
whoever that fat black chick is… she just didn’t get the fact he was just joking about promise rings. i can imagine her backstage all fat and sweaty before coming on saying “I’m going to go on and set the record straight.” — thanks for showing us you don’t know what a joke is fat black chick."
THAT IS COMPLETELY UNCALLED FOR!! What is your problem. Yeah, maybe she didn't get the joke, but to attack her personally..... What did she do to you?? NOt that American Idol is the best show, but you must have a grudge against Idol winners or something.
I doubt Jordan will even sees this, but Jordan please continue doing you. The last thing we (America) needs is another barbie doll type celebrity.

As for the show, It definitely sucked.... I don't think the way this year's show was set up is the best way to present the VMA's for the future. (That's a nice way to put it) MTV, please change / revise your thinking on your award shows. They all have been extremely terrible the last 2-3 years! This does include the Movie Awards as well.

Russell Brand, I did think he was funny, but felt stepped over the line a couple times. At first the Jonas Brother's jokes were funny, but to keep it up all night, a bit too much. I did agree with him on his VP nominee, Sarah Palin comments, well not all the comments, just the VILF one. That was funny and she is petty hot for a older woman.

Ms. Spears, I'm sorry to say, but you did not deserve those awards. I'm glad you got them, but I hope you know that you did not deserve them.

The whole house band thing is crap. The ESPY's tried it out too. It doesn't work. For the people at home, we want to see these acts in their entirety, not just the intro and ending, while the audience gets the meat of the performance. No disrespect to DJ AM and Travis Barker, I just wanted to see more and there be more of a spotlight.

I love Weezy, but come on man, really? Did you have to wear your pants that low?? If so, why not have a shirt on, Jeeze. I get you want to show off your muscles or tattoos, just pull up your pants and wear a belt. You don't have to go Urkle, just presentable. Please come with more class in the future!! Take a note from Jay-Z, T.I., LL Cool J, Lupe Fiasco, Kanye West, Common, even T-Pain. Lil Wayne, you make Hip-Hop/Rap look bad!, you sound great!, you have a great flow, but your appearance is terrible.

And I thought the BET Awards were bad.... This year might have been the first time the BET Awards were better. It they had some rock, county, and pop added they would have been better.

Lastly, MTV, play more videos......

I'm done!

friends

I have wonderful friends. I have those good friends that I can talk to, those old friends that I have just restarted new relationships with, and those to hang out with.

An old friend of mine from elementary school, Tammie, found me on Facebook a couple of months ago. From then, we have been catching up, joking about the past, you know, catching up. Tammie lives in Denver. When I realized that I was going to Denver, Tammie did not hesitate to offer up her place as my own temporarily. I really appreciated that. Thanks again Tammie! We have kept in touch here and there for over 15 years (closer to 17). Friends like those are hard to come by. Below I have a couple shots of Tammie and her husband Cody. Oh yeah, Thanks to Cody as well for letting me stay! I love Cody's "man room", 60 plus inch tv, killer surround sound, the original Nintendo, etc...

I also recently started communicating with a friend of mine from early high school in Germany. (9th & 10th grades), Katie. I found her on Myspace. (Got to love these social sites!!) On my way back from Denver, I contacted Katie to see if you could get together for dinner or something on my way back to Atlanta. She was exicited and said "H" yeah...lol So I stopped by her place to visit over dinner. When I arrived I was introduced to her husband and child, Michael Tod and Jake, both very cool dudes. She also greated me with a very nice italian type dish. (sorry can't remember the name) I asked her did she go out of her way to prepare the dish and she says, she got it from Pizza Hut.....LOL! That was a very funny moment because I think she was gonna try to sting me along, but her husband called her out way early...LOL.

I really enjoy reconnecting with old friends. If there are any more of you guys out there, call, email, Myspace, Facebook me. Her are some shots of Katie and family.

Videos from the road...

this countries bridges that I experienced....

3 bridges and an Arch.

Inside the car

Just a little insight into the inside of my car while on the road.

State Sign Portraits

Here are all my best state sign portraits......... There is no OK because there is no sign when entering the state from the south on I-44. There is no IL either because the sign is suspended over the highway on a bridge with no place to stop.

NPR is the $h!$nit.....

Why do some people feel that they need to display the confederate flag. Maybe I'm ignorant to this situation, but this is how I think and feel (disclaimer) Have you seen those signs that say "Heritage, not Racism"? I have and I don't believe that at all. Weren't the Conferates fighting to keep their way of life the same? i.e Slavery => Racism. I don't know, it doesn't make since to me. I don't buy that. This thought was sparked because I saw what you are seeing in this photo, live. It is just a bit intimidating seeing this big 18 wheeler barreling down on you throught the rear & side mirrors while driving, especially in the middle of nowhere.
Random iPod news. I'm @ 647 of 7816. I am getting a bit tired of not being able to change to a song I want to hear specifically at any moment. I have been enjoying NPR when the iPod just hasn't been cuttin' it.

Just weird...

What is up with Alabama and their welcome center? WHy do they feel like they need to have a rocket to help welcome you to their state? In case you wanted to also see this site, this welcome center is located in Northern Alabama entering the state from TN on I-65 S. Interesting.....

For those wondering where the Oklahoma state sign is, I'm also wondering where it is. I looked and looked. I entered the state from the South on I-44N, a toll road in OK. I went through the info line at the toll and asked the attendant about the sign. She said the state was too cheap for a very visual sign, but there is a granite/marble slab on the ground on at the state line. Who is supposed to see that? Especially from your car, travelling approx. 75-80 mph.

So mom, that is why there is no sign from my childhood state. and anybody else that was wondering. I do however have some photos from my old neighborhood. Check them out below.

My old church,Greater Galilee Baptist Church
My old elementary school, Carriage Hills
My old junior high school. I guess you can see the name already.

Flower Mound Rd, This used to be an old 2 lane country road, now it is modern looking with 4 lanes plus a turning lane.

The old neighborhood street. The trees have really grown.
My old house. I deputy now lives there. I helped plant those trees, I think.

My old street sign

My old backyard (yes the current occupants let me inside)

The backyard on the other side. Again those trees have been growin'

Ft. Sill landmark. The good ole water tower.
