this countries bridges that I experienced....

3 bridges and an Arch.

Inside the car

Just a little insight into the inside of my car while on the road.

State Sign Portraits

Here are all my best state sign portraits......... There is no OK because there is no sign when entering the state from the south on I-44. There is no IL either because the sign is suspended over the highway on a bridge with no place to stop.

NPR is the $h!$nit.....

Why do some people feel that they need to display the confederate flag. Maybe I'm ignorant to this situation, but this is how I think and feel (disclaimer) Have you seen those signs that say "Heritage, not Racism"? I have and I don't believe that at all. Weren't the Conferates fighting to keep their way of life the same? i.e Slavery => Racism. I don't know, it doesn't make since to me. I don't buy that. This thought was sparked because I saw what you are seeing in this photo, live. It is just a bit intimidating seeing this big 18 wheeler barreling down on you throught the rear & side mirrors while driving, especially in the middle of nowhere.
Random iPod news. I'm @ 647 of 7816. I am getting a bit tired of not being able to change to a song I want to hear specifically at any moment. I have been enjoying NPR when the iPod just hasn't been cuttin' it.

Just weird...

What is up with Alabama and their welcome center? WHy do they feel like they need to have a rocket to help welcome you to their state? In case you wanted to also see this site, this welcome center is located in Northern Alabama entering the state from TN on I-65 S. Interesting.....

For those wondering where the Oklahoma state sign is, I'm also wondering where it is. I looked and looked. I entered the state from the South on I-44N, a toll road in OK. I went through the info line at the toll and asked the attendant about the sign. She said the state was too cheap for a very visual sign, but there is a granite/marble slab on the ground on at the state line. Who is supposed to see that? Especially from your car, travelling approx. 75-80 mph.

So mom, that is why there is no sign from my childhood state. and anybody else that was wondering. I do however have some photos from my old neighborhood. Check them out below.

My old church,Greater Galilee Baptist Church
My old elementary school, Carriage Hills
My old junior high school. I guess you can see the name already.

Flower Mound Rd, This used to be an old 2 lane country road, now it is modern looking with 4 lanes plus a turning lane.

The old neighborhood street. The trees have really grown.
My old house. I deputy now lives there. I helped plant those trees, I think.

My old street sign

My old backyard (yes the current occupants let me inside)

The backyard on the other side. Again those trees have been growin'

Ft. Sill landmark. The good ole water tower.

Shannon Miller has her own PKWY, yep in OK City

Oh for those of you who don't know. Shannon Miller is/was a gymnast. She was on the US Olympic gold metal team in Atlanta in 1996, "The Magnificent Seven". Sorry I didn't get a picture. I passed it too fast and there is only one sign apparently.

Ok, you guys know how anal I am about what gas I put in my car. I only use BP gas, but while on this trip I noticed that BP does not exist in LA, TX, OK, KS, and CO. Well in KS I saw only 2 stations. It was really annoying to me that I could't fill my car with BP gas everytime I stopped. Since crossing into MO, IL, TN, & AL BP's are everywhere. They must be an East coast company.

Speaking of gold metals @ the Olympics, I just found out that my friend and track teammate from Pine Forest, Crystal Cox, is going to be on the newest season of Survivor (Gabon in Africa). She won a gold medal in the 2004 games for running the 4x400mm. I now know 2 celebrities....cool, huh...lol The other person is Affion Crocket. I know him from Fayetteville State Univ. Check him out here. http://www.youtube.com/affioncrockett

Zero miles

So what is the point of a zero miles sign. Anybody know or have any suggestions?

Missouri state line

So Taco John's sucks. The meat tasted weird and the taco and burrito I got were overly greasy. So Abigail, TacoBell is definately better. But if Tammie's counts, hers tops all so far.

How are you supposed to stop @ the state line if the sign is suspended on one of those overhead highway road signs. i ALMOST TRIED, BUT DECIDED AGAINST IT. There go thos caps again, sorry. Anyways, I got a sign that will do. I was experimenting with motion since I needed a longer exposure (being at night and all). I liked this. Hope you do too.

Check out how dark it is on the road. I just thought this shot was interesting.
